James Ward is a novelist, short-story writer, and essayist. He is the author of two previous novels: Safe to Say and Every Commandment but the Fifth. His short stories and essays have appeared in the US and abroad in numerous journals, magazines, and newspapers. He was born and raised in Buffalo, New York, and now lives in New Jersey.
