Jan Yager is an award-winning author, speaker, consultant, and publisher whose 73+ books have been translated into 35 languages. Her work spans productivity, relationships, writing and publishing, crime victims, sociology, and fiction.

Dr. Yager earned a B.A. from Hofstra University, an M.A. in Criminal Justice from Goddard College, and a Ph.D. in Sociology from The City University of New York Graduate Center. She has taught at several universities, including John Jay College of Criminal Justice, William Paterson, Penn State, and the University of South Florida, and has appeared on "The Oprah Winfrey Show", "Today," "Good Morning America," "The View," NPR, and many other media outlets.

Among her bestselling and most widely translated books are "How to Finish Everything You Start," "Work Less, Do More," "Friendshifts," "When Friendship Hurts," "Friendgevity," "125 Ways to Meet the Love of Your Life," and "How to Self-Publish Your Book." Her books on crime victims and victimology include "Victims" and "Essentials of Victimology."

Her fiction includes "Untimely Death" and "Just Your Everyday People" (co-authored with Fred Yager), "On the Run," and "Just in Time for Love" and the full-length drama "Holding On, Letting Go." Several of Jan’s novels have been adapted into screenplays and two have been optioned.
