Jennifer Downing is the author of the More Than… series, including More Than Willpower, More Than “Normal,” More Than “Mom,” and More Than a Dog. Drawing from personal experience, research, and a lifetime of stories she never expected to turn into books, she writes about the complicated things that are often reduced to simple explanations—weight, health, motherhood, identity, and the seasons of life that change us.

Jennifer is a Cherokee Nation citizen who lives within the Cherokee Nation in Oklahoma with her husband, Jeff. Her work has also been recognized through Cherokee Nation arts programs. She is the mother of two grown sons and is still learning that being “Mom” can be one of the biggest parts of who you are without being the only part.
