Jim is a retired lieutenant with the Metro Nashville Police Dept, with over 42 years of dedicated service. Throughout his distinguished career, he has cultivated a deep understanding of human emotion, conflict, and resilience, elements that now inspire his storytelling.
An accomplished writer, Jim has authored numerous short stories across a variety of genres and has published two previous books. His novel, Erik's Song, recently won the Bronze Medal Award in the 2026 Readers' Favorite International Book Award Contest in the Paranormal Fiction category. While he enjoys exploring many narrative styles, he is particularly drawn to crafting stories that resonate emotionally and linger in readers' hearts long after the final page.
Jim spent his formative years in Oak Ridge, Tennessee—once known as the “Secret City” for its pivotal role in the Manhattan Project during World War II. The town’s unique history and quiet mystique continue to influence his love for stories with atmospheric depth and emotional complexity.
He now lives in Murfreesboro, TN. with his wife, Suzanne—also a retired Sergeant from the Nashville Police Department. When not writing, Jim enjoys spending time with his family, and reflecting on stories yet to be told.
