Jo Millington is one of the UK’s leading forensic scientists. She started her career in Scotland, before moving to the homicide division of the Forensic Science Service in London. She transferred from there to the Specialist Forensics Division of the Metropolitan Police Service before moving into private practice and setting up her own forensic science consultancy, Millington Hingley Ltd.
Jo is a renowned specialist in Bloodstain Pattern Analysis (BPA) and delivers a range of training courses to practitioners from all over the world through her training company Spatter/ED. She is Honorary Professor of Practice in Forensic Science at University College London, a specialist advisor to government agencies on forensic science policy and practice and a Trustee and Advisory Panel member for Inside Justice, an award-winning charity that investigates alleged miscarriages of justice.
Alongside her investigative work, Jo is the forensic science advisor on Silent Witness, host of UK Forensic Breakthroughs and has contributed to some of the UK’s most compelling true crime shows such as Wrongly Accused, Des, Whitehouse Farm, The Long Shadow and Stephen, as well as various award-winning podcasts.
