I'm a multi-genre novelist who took decades to study craft before publishing my first novel. Still active in the field of learning technology, my interests often intersect with human-machine collaborations—and have for decades. I like to explore the edges of that space. Ultimately, I'm on the side of the humans—but please don't tell the machines; they already control too much! I grew up in an Army family and moved 21 times before my 18th birthday. As a result, I saw many cultures, met people in many walks of life—even a few spies (good and bad)—and was exposed to several languages and dialects early on. From these experiences, I developed an ability to listen, pick up on nuances, and connect dots. I like to sprinkle very subtle clues throughout my works because that's part of the rhythm of life—don't you think? Every novel or novella I publish has a few things in common: - compelling characters, whose arc(s) drive the story - must stand on its own, whether part of a series or not - has to grab me. A book should make me laugh, cry, and get angry--every time I read it. I wouldn't waste your time with anything less. After a life of moving every few years, my wife and I settled in Kingston, WA, a relatively quiet little community not far from Seattle. I still work full-time as a learning technologist, though my official title is fancier than that. Fortunately, decades of practice, millions of words, and dozens of "practice novels" helped me learn to flesh out ideas in a way that works for me, and to write fast. While only a few have made their way to print so far, I have several more in the queue—mostly complete and getting polished. If you like my stories, you can expect 3-4 new works each year. If you don't...well, that doesn't matter then, does it? ;-) Follow me to get notified when new works are published.
