John C. Daly grew up in Union City, New Jersey. Following his graduation from Emerson High School, he attended William Paterson University. He worked briefly as a copy boy for the Hudson Dispatch in Union City, and as a sandhog with Local 147, building water and subway tunnels under New York City. He relocated to south Florida in 1981. He currently resides in Coral Springs, Florida, with is wife Marie and their three children.
