I don't reveal my face in this picture because I want you to consider that this could be your story, or that of your daughter, sister, mother, friend....My story is shared by so many others who are afraid to tell their stories for fear of retaliation by their abuser. Raised in a sheltered rural town in Canada, I naively carried a "Pollyanna" view of the world, thinking the world was full of goodness with flowers and butterflies, and that evil was mostly restricted to scary books.
