Julia V. Ashley, an author and architect, can be found exploring the crumbling buildings of the Gothic South, searching for inspiration. Her recent works include A Charmed Moon, An Enchanted Heart, and A Clever Fox. Her short stories appear in the collection, Jazz by Faelight, and in various speculative fiction anthologies.
She lives with her husband along the Natchez Trace Parkway, surrounded by its ghost travelers and varied wildlife. Currently, she’s writing a contemporary fantasy about a sin-eater who serves the magical mafia of New Orleans. She’s also attempting to convince the raccoon haunting her trash can to be her familiar. He’s dubious, but she’s tossed in a Mississippi Mud Pie to sweeten the deal.
