Julio Torresoto was born in Guayanilla, Puerto Rico. He began working as a media professional at the age of 17, engaging in theater, radio, television, cinema, dubbing, and commercials. He currently resides in Hollywood, Florida.
In 1970, Torresoto received the Best Public Service Program award in the United States, presented by CPB in Washington D.C. Furthermore, his animated cartoon Regresé (I returned) received an honorable mention at the Chicago International Festival in 1979, and the film Trapped, in which he served as an actor and screenwriter, won second prize at the Houston International Festival in 1980.
