K.J. McCall (real name Karen Day) was born in the mountains of Virginia and grew up in the Maryland suburbs of Washington, D.C. Her career was spent in federal government service as an information systems specialist and technical writer, the last fourteen years with Department of Health and Human Services. K.J. now lives in the mountains of south central Pennsylvania, devoting most of her time to writing and associated research. She has two novels and a three-book series.
