KD Carr is a lifelong learner, corporate leader, and storyteller who believes that curiosity is the key to both growth and connection. With a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, she built a 35-year career in global strategy and planning within the technology industry - leading high-performing teams, driving multi-billion-dollar initiatives, and mentoring others through a servant-led approach that values people as much as performance.
As KD approached retirement, she felt both excitement and uncertainty. After decades of structure and purpose, she began to wonder: Who am I without my work? That question sparked a personal journey - one filled with exploration, creativity, and rediscovery. Along the way, she realized that countless others share the same search for meaning beyond career.
Turning that discovery into purpose, KD fulfilled a lifelong dream and became an author. Her debut book, Things to Do in Retirement That Unleash Play, Passion, and Purpose, helps readers reignite their sense of adventure and joy during life’s next chapter. But her journey didn’t stop there. While researching, KD uncovered a deeper truth: the quiet epidemic of loneliness that touches people of every age. This revelation inspired her next book, The Loneliness Paradox: Why We’re More Plugged In Than Ever But Still Feel Alone, a heartfelt exploration of disconnection in our digital world and how we can rebuild meaningful relationships.
After the heartfelt response to The Loneliness Paradox, KD wanted to give readers something more: a hands-on way to put connection into practice. That inspiration became The Loneliness Paradox Workbook: A Step-by-Step Guide to Reconnect with Yourself and Others in a Disconnected World. Designed as a personal journal and reflection tool, the workbook invites readers to slow down, look inward, and take small, intentional steps toward deeper connection - with themselves, their loved ones, their communities, and the world around them.
Today, KD lives in Maumee, Ohio, with her partner John and their two rescue cats. She’s a proud mom of two daughters and grandmother of two grandsons, and she finds joy in travel, crafting, writing, biking, and live music. Through her words and her life, KD embodies her core belief: that every season of life is an opportunity to reconnect - with ourselves, with others, and with what truly matters.
