Kat Starnes grew up in the Pacific Northwest, making only occasional forays into other parts of the country, and a few notable excursions into foreign lands. Six months spent as a 10 year-old child in a southern African country taught her a lot about differences in cultures, and consistencies in human behavior. She earned an English lit degree far too long ago to advertise the year, and although she has had random outside employment, has spent most of her adult life as a homemaker and DIY house fixer-upper. She never had any ambitions to write a novel, until the realization that she had something to say unexpectedly snuck up on her. Her cat, Bean, did not appreciate the time spent writing, as it located a laptop in precisely the place that she herself desired to occupy. Bean is now grateful the tedious process is over, and hopes that this impulsive and regrettable stage of life has passed, and desires with great fervor that it will never be repeated.
