Kathryn Young is a part-time health coach and author of non-fiction books, who was born and raised in San Diego, California. Now the mother of two young children and with a husband serving in the US Navy, she lives just outside the city limits where she concentrates on writing and arising her family. Kathryn’s interest in health and fitness started when she was in her teens and started a gym membership. She soon realised that keeping fit through activity was just a small part of overall wellness and began taking her diet more seriously, taking care of what she ate and the quantity she was consuming. After leaving university she took a year off to work on a farm in New Zealand and it was there that she encountered a mentor who changed her views entirely, promoting a completely rounded overview of both physical and mental health, something that Kathryn practices religiously to this day. Upon her return to the USA, Kathryn started her own health coach business, which had very humble origins. After meeting her husband starting their family, she realised that she may have to put the business on hold for a time, but then hit on the idea of writing about what she know best. Now she is writing books on a range of topics in the health, nutrition, fitness, cooking and holistic health niche, helping many more people to adopt a healthier lifestyle through activity and their diet. In her spare time, Kathryn runs every day, cycles with her children in the countryside around their home and enjoys cooking and baking healthy and nutritious food. She still likes to relax with the odd glass of wine occasionally and in the evening, she loves nothing more than putting her feet up and watching a good movie.
