L.K. Hingey is a former U.S. Army UH-60 Black Hawk pilot and the author of The Elyrian Chronicles, a post-apocalyptic science-fiction series exploring genetic engineering, survival, identity, and the fragile boundary between protection and control.
Raised in Detroit, Michigan, she enlisted in the U.S. Army at seventeen before earning a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics and commissioning as an Army officer. After spinal injuries ended her aviation career, she medically retired from military service.
The idea for The Elyrian Chronicles began while L.K. backpacked 2,000 miles along the Appalachian Trail. The journey’s isolation, beauty, danger, and relentless demand for perseverance helped inspire a world in which humanity must decide not only how to survive, but what it is willing to become.
Outside of writing, L.K. is a certified personal trainer and lifelong adventurer with a love of science, fitness, travel, and the outdoors. She is currently continuing The Elyrian Chronicles while developing a prequel series that explores the beautiful world that existed before the fall.
