If you landed on this page, then I am already grateful and humbled by your interest, so thanks! I grew up playing old school D&D and the artful practice of escapism to all things sci-fi and fantasy. I stopped gaming and now become easily lost in the characters and plots I create.
Fast stuff about me: raised in rural central Iowa, oldest of 4 kids, stuck around my high school sweetheart so long that eventually I eroded her resolve and she married me. More than 30 years later we still make each other laugh. We raised 3 amazing girls, now women, and adopted a son and daughter, (ahem these last two are sheepadoodles named after characters in Awakened Runes).
I attended Cornell College majoring in anthropology and biology, then attended the University of Iowa Collège of Medicine. I practice emergency medicine in central Iowa. I love the job, it's an amazing messy amalgam of problem solving, adrenaline and let's face it, feeling like you make a difference to someone at least once a shift is its own reward.
Favorite hobbies: hiking, travel, acoustic guitar. If I had more time I would be shamelessly addicted to several MMORPG's but one can only have so many vices ad still feel productive!
