Laura has always been interested in words and language and how they create the magic of story. She got her degree in English Language and Literature and immediately gravitated toward the publishing industry. Over the years, she has worked in a variety of positions from bookseller, book sales rep and product coordinator to marketing manager but mostly as a publicist, a job she loved. What other position gives you the opportunity to meet authors, work on new projects, and tell the world about important and entertaining books?
Her non-fiction books aim to share her industry knowledge with authors and aspiring writers and give them an inside track on the sales and marketing techniques required to succeed in book publishing. With planning, enthusiasm and dedication, any author can put together an effective publicity campaign for their books. Trust her when she says it’s easier than writing a novel.
When it comes to fiction, romance novels are her first and one true love. Discovering Georgette Heyer in the school library and Kathleen E. Woodiwiss on her father's bookshelves cemented her belief in happily ever after. It took her a lot longer to master story than it did publicity but she got there. Her first romance will be published in late 2018.
