L.J. Day was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She is a Special Education Teacher, and an advocate for special education and special needs children. Laura, an award-winning author, gains her inspiration for her writing from her 3 children and students. She discovered her passion for writing when she embarked on a special project with her oldest son as a way to show him he could accomplish anything he put his mind to. My Special Mind was that special project, which was released in March 2018.
