I know a Laura who grew up in the Pennsylvania hills. She chased runaway hogs, hunted eggs, and climbed stone walls. She is a writer. Her first stories were published when, using a sewing machine, her mother bound pages of childish scrawling into proper books.
This Laura fell in love with a soldier. They married, and she followed him from one place to the next. They raised a family. She is a mother and grandmother. She sings and plays the piano - both badly but with great enthusiasm. She draws pictures, bakes goodies, and mostly ... she dreams.
Whoever and wherever she finds herself, Laura always takes a moment now and then to scribble stories.
