Born in Baltimore, Linda Collison moved west as a young woman cobbling together a composite career that has included parenting, nursing, freelance writing, volunteer firefighting, teaching skydiving, and other occupations.
Linda is the author of Star-Crossed (Alfred A. Knopf), chosen to be among the New York Public Library's "Books for the Teen Age - 2007." She is also the editor of the extreme sports biography, Jerry Bird: The Making of a Skydiving Legend (Ground Rush Productions, 2025).
Collison's fascination for nautical history took hold when she sailed aboard the HM Bark Endeavour on a three-week passage from Vancouver to Hawaii in 1999. As one of the voyage crew, Linda played the role of an 18th century sailor aboard a remarkable replica ship that served as a portal to 18th century shipboard life. Linda and her husband Robert Russell have enjoyed (or endured) many blue water miles together on their Luders 36' sloop Topaz. They met skydiving in Colorado.
A retired professional nurse, Collison's 12-year career in Emergency and Acute Care nursing also influences her fiction.
Linda enjoys traveling by air, land, and sea. Looking for Redfeather (Fiction House, Ltd.), an American road trip novel, is one of her travelogues.
