I write historical fiction making it easy, interesting and painless for the reader to learn the history of the United States; each book focusing on an event in our history as seen and experienced through the eyes of one person and one family. My books are in some schools and are being used to augment the history lessons. They are suitable for middle grade students through adults. The books are all connected in one way or another. I take a minor character from one book and give him his own book. And then a minor character from that book, gets his or her own book.

I call my books Beach Chair Books because they can be read easily while sitting at the beach, or on a porch swing, or while curled up on the couch. They can be readily tucked into a beach bag or purse.

I live in rural North Carolina, having previously lived in the North, East, South, and West sections of the country. I'm eighty-five years old and have lived a long and full life, accumulating many memories along the way. I've seen Stonehenge, touched the Rosetta Stone in the British Museum, flown over a volcano, walked on a glacier, and have gone parasailing multiple times and skydived at age sixty. I have no regrets. I've also raised tremendous children, and have been married three times, the last time at age 80, proving love can always be just around the corner. Because of my last two marriages, my books are under the names: Linda Loegel and Linda Loegel Hemby.

I now live with my little dog Winston who puts a smile on my face every day. When not writing, I enjoy watching the bluebirds through my living room window or sitting on my porch swing in the backyard.

I have had stories published in Chicken Soup For the Soul, Guidepost Magazine, Country Woman, and others as well as many anthologies.
