Liz Grace is an occupational therapist, author, and mental health advocate in Ontario, Canada. She is the author of Resilient: Surviving My Mental Illness (2023), a memoir that shares her journey through multiple psychiatric hospitalizations, hearing loss, cochlear implantation, and recovery—all while training to become a healthcare professional.
Resilient was recognized as a finalist for the 2024 Ontario Legislative Assembly’s Speaker’s Book Award, shortlisted alongside works by experienced authors such as Steve Paikin and Ken Dryden. While it did not win, its selection affirmed that stories of survival—especially when crafted with depth, structure, and authenticity—deserve a place not only in clinical and educational settings but also in our broader civic memory.
Her story is also featured in Awakenings: Stories of Recovery and Emergence from Schizophrenia (2024) by Bethany Yeiser and Dr. Henry Nasrallah. Liz shares resources to support classes, book clubs, and professional development groups on her Liz Grace Author website.
