Marcy Stone is an author, contemporary artist, speaker, and lifelong creative whose work explores grief, love, transformation, and the choices that shape who we become.
Following the death of her daughter Sydney in 2016, Marcy wrote The Voice of an Angel: A Mother’s Guide to Grief and How to Thrive After the Loss of a Child. Written from within the earliest landscape of loss, the book offers grieving mothers compassionate companionship, practical guidance, and permission to carry both pain and love.
In the years that followed, Marcy and her husband, Ken Bell, created Volumes 1–3 of The Best of Both Worlds Cookbook collection in Sydney’s memory. Through healthier versions of comforting and familiar foods, the books transform enduring love into nourishment, service, and a meaningful way of giving back.
A decade after The Voice of an Angel, Marcy wrote Ten Years In: Following Grief Toward Meaning, a stand-alone reflection on what comes after survival—when grief has become integrated into a life shaped by forgiveness, creativity, truth, and the courage to keep becoming.
Writing eventually led Marcy to painting, where color and texture became a language for what words could no longer hold. With creative roots in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, she now lives and creates in Manta, Ecuador, finding inspiration in the rhythm of the ocean and the expansiveness of light.
Her creative world continues to grow. Marcy is currently developing the Land of Wonder Collection, a future series of richly imagined children’s books celebrating curiosity, courage, belonging, creativity, and the beauty of becoming.
Across every medium, Marcy’s work carries the same belief: we do not have to be defined by what has happened to us. We can carry love forward, live honestly, and create meaning—and wonder—from what remains.
