Historical fiction saga author Meg Burton writes about ordinary women overcoming the odds, and the friendships, love and heartbreak that shape their lives. Inspired by her own suffragette great-grandmother, Meg’s fiction explores the resilience of women making their own way in a man's world.

Her debut series with Hodder & Stoughton, The Larkbury Girls, begins with The Village Station Girls – a moving wartime drama set in a fictional Dorset village, where three very different women face love, loss and friendship as war transforms their close-knit community.

A lifelong passion for history led Meg to write non-fiction articles on subjects from strawberries to spring cleaning. Her short stories have appeared in Yours Fiction and Woman’s Weekly.

Meg grew up on the Isle of Wight and has an MA in Music from Cambridge University. She lives in Devon with her husband and son, plays the piano and Baroque flute, and enjoys a crab sandwich by the sea.
