Dr. Haarsager is a neonatologist and professor emeritus of pediatrics. With Scottish roots, she is the daughter of WW2 British codebreakers trained at Bletchley Park. She was born in Sri Lanka, raised in England, and received her medical education in Edinburgh and Baltimore. Under her maiden and professional name, she wrote and edited more than a dozen medical textbooks, edited an international journal on pediatric AIDS, and published countless articles for academic journals. Mhairi Haarsager lives in Maine with her husband.
