"I've never known what I wanted to do with my life. I moved back to my hometown In my forties and with my friend who's the Tenkiller character, and for 18 months I was jacked-up all the while we were on an adventure and I kept saying to myself this would make a great book.
I'd never written anything but I had a job where I could take the winters off so I started writing it out by hand to see if I had any abilities. Then I got a computer and I soon discovered that it was probably what I should have been doing all my life because I realized I actually loved writing.
