Michelle is an award-winning historical fiction author living in central Massachusetts. Although she now writes novels rooted in the past, her earliest ambition was to write horror stories, influenced by authors such as Shirley Jackson, Edgar Allan Poe, Peter Straub, and Dean Koontz—an influence that still shapes her love of atmosphere and emotional tension.
Her passion for historical fiction took hold while attending Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island, where living in one of the university’s Gilded Age residences sparked a fascination with the lives, secrets, and drama of those who came before. That sense of lived-in history now defines her work.
When not writing, Michelle enjoys traveling and appreciating nature with her husband and spending time with loved ones.
