Hi there My name is Andy I’m originally from a small mining town in North Wales. At 24, I moved to London, where I spent the next 20 years building a life and career — and for the past 15 years, I’ve called Australia home. Throughout my journey, I’ve explored a few different paths: working in casinos, dabbling in acting, and most notably, pursuing a career in hospitality. I’ve managed and owned cocktail bars in both London and Sydney — a demanding but rewarding profession that taught me a lot about people and life. After selling my last venue, I found myself drawn to something entirely unexpected: becoming a marriage celebrant. That shift opened a deeply meaningful and fulfilling new chapter in my life. Not long after stepping into this new role, I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. It was during my recovery that I began writing the book you see here — not just as a personal project, but as a way to process my experience and hopefully help others facing similar challenges. Writing became more than a creative outlet; it became a part of my healing. Since then, I’ve discovered a genuine love for writing — and who knows, maybe this is just the beginning. Life has a way of constantly surprising us, just like the stories in books and films always said it would. Thank you for taking the time to read my story.
