N Dhawan was born in New Delhi, India, and completed his schooling in Cairo, Egypt. He then pursued his passion for Karate with the Japan Karate Association, and became a full-time Instructor in 1993.
Having traveled extensively since his childhood, he had no choice but to learn new languages, meet new teachers, make new friends, and overcome new obstacles. He owes all his success to his teachers, and his Karate. His love for teaching has taken him beyond various institutions in India and the United States, sharing his 'Karate for Character' with children and adults.
Now, retired from a very successful tournament career, Dhawan owns and manages the JKA WF Chicago Karate Institute, Inc., (www.chicagokarate.info), and oversees the development of top level instructors, coaches, and athletes.
His signature quote is, "There are no excuses... only, Intentions."
When not training, teaching or traveling, he enjoys looking after his Bonsai, reading, writing, practicing Kendo, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with his children.
