Patsy writes and illustrates stories filled with emotional truths, imagination, humor, absurdity, sorrow, beauty, and the stubborn endurance of the human spirit. Raised in a large, poor English-Irish family, she learned early that life is rarely tidy, fair, or easily repaired. Her work carries traces of hardship, survival, dark humor, aging, loneliness, oddity, and the sometimes uncomfortable truths people prefer not to speak aloud.
Her more than 50 books in different genres- both fiction and non fiction-build bridges between whimsy and reality, where magic exists beside grief, where old people still dream, where wounded souls keep searching, and where humor sometimes arrives wearing muddy boots instead of polished shoes. Some readers call it her “black Irish humor.” Others simply recognize life in it.
A lifelong reader, thinker, artist, and observer of human nature, Patsy spent many years studying spirituality, symbolism, imagination, healing, and the hidden emotional landscapes people carry within themselves. Though deeply private and somewhat hermit-like by nature, she has continued writing and creating into her eighties, producing books and artwork that reflect both the beauty and absurdity of being human.
Her work does not promise perfect endings or easy answers. Instead, it offers stories with soul, scars, humor, imagination, and heart.
