Paula T. Renfroe began her writing career as a contributor to Time Out New York magazine and went on to serve as Managing Editor of The Source and Lifestyle Editor of XXL Magazine. She co-authored her first book, Textured Tresses: The Ultimate Guide to Maintaining and Styling Natural Hair (Fireside/Simon & Schuster) in 2004. Her work has also appeared in Vibe, Vibe Vixen, King, Rides and Hip-Hop Soul magazines. She is currently the editor-in-chief of the newly launched Juicy magazine. A Long Island native, Renfroe is at work on her second novel and lives in Laurelton, Queens with her teenaged son and occasionally her 20-year-old daughter when she’s not in her NYU dorm.
