Peter Deans is the principal and founder of the Notwithoutrisk Group. Peter is a former financial services executive with a career of over 32 years. Peter is today an industry-leading risk management and strategy advisor and non-executive director. Peter has been a financier and advisor to hundreds of businesses in his many decades of experience. Peter is an advisor to, and investor in, both established businesses and startups across a wide range of industries. In November 2024, Your Financial Wellness – a startup Peter has advised since 2020 – won the prestigious 2024 Singapore Fintech Festival’s Global Hackcelerator competition. Peter established Gōru in December 2024. Gōru – the Japanese word for goal – seeks to support young entrepreneurs in the very early stages of their startup journey. Peter is also the Creator & Founder of the 52 Risks® management framework and is a regular contributor to a range of strategy, risk and finance publications. Peter was awarded Australian Banking & Finance magazine’s Chief Risk Officer of the Year award in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2018.
