Dr. Punita Rice is the author of The River's Daughter, a feminist reimagining of the Punjabi legend of Mirza Sahiba and an Amazon #1 Bestseller in Asian Myth & Legend. Its standalone prequel, The River Goddess, is a gods and mortals myth of tragedy, defiance, and the origin of the river's power.
Punita is a former teacher and education researcher. She holds a doctorate from Johns Hopkins University and is the author of Brown Voices: South Asian American Experiences in Schools. Her work has appeared in the Berkeley Review of Education, Education Week, The Baltimore Sun, and other publications.
