I write “approachable” epic, historical, and romantic fantasy—as well as the occasional romance—that subtly (and not-so-subtly) challenges the status quo. I have a BA in archaeology and Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Pennsylvania and a (virtually unused) law degree from the University of Houston. I don’t use generative AI in any part of my creative process. I initially published The Noble Pirates under the name Rima Jean and have since started writing under R. Laham.
