Writing is a marathon and it’s also a sprint. It’s turning the light on at three in the morning because you just had that one idea that needed to be written down. It’s reading and re-reading your work to the point that you can pinpoint where every sentence is in a three hundred page book just from having it read to you. I don’t think these are shocking revelations, nor do I think their universal. But if I had to sum up the long, long, journey to publishing my first book on kindle that’s how I would do it. Of course Utopia? might be my latest step but it was not my first in this self-taught writing journey and I am proud to say that many can be viewed online, for free. All of these steps have been building blocks in creating something that I can’t yet see the end of. But, to use a cliché too often used, I intend to enjoy every step along that journey. Won’t you join me?
