Hello, I'm Rachel Mathews. I'm an author, (semi-reluctant) public speaker and online educator. I've been a professional garden designer for over 30 years. I'm based in the UK but have worked internationally for clients all over the world. Over the years I've designed every size, shape and style of garden. My passion is to create modern gardens with a natural feel, whilst incorporating plenty of edible foods. In 2009 I enrolled in an online teacher training programme so I could learn how to teach garden design. Since then I have been writing and teaching garden design to a worldwide audience via the Successful Garden Design website. I've also written travel memoirs in the Misadventures Book Series and I'm currently writing a book series for teenagers (14+) which will be coming out in Spring 2026.
