Dr. Ransom H. Poythress (MA, Westminster Theological Seminary; PhD, Boston University) is an Associate Professor of Biology at Houghton College. His research focuses on exploring how smooth muscle proteins remodel during contraction and how that impacts our understanding of hypertension and muscle recovery. Other academic interests include the philosophy of science and Biblical apologetics. He is also an ordained ruling elder in the Presbyterian Church in America. He and his wife, Lisbeth, live near the college campus where they minister to students.
