Reef Perkins was born in 1946 in Michigan to a Mayflower descendant and a Scottish woman. His life of adventure leads him from the forests and swamps of Michigan to Navy Salvage School and then to Vietnam. An uncomfortable return to civilization could not be tolerated. He moved on to a life of high adventure as an experimental diver, smuggler, perp and deep sea salvage diver in Key West, Florida. Reef Perkins with his wife won the Tennessee Williams Museum 2019 Short Story Contest for his short story, Between the Pages.
