I am an artist, author, educator, and philosopher. As an author and illustrator of children’s books my nom de plume is Regina Sparrow. I grew up in a family of artists and entrepreneurs in Los Angeles and Pasadena, California. The arts have been integral to my life. For my undergraduate education, I was honored to study art with an emphasis in sculpture in the inspiring environment at San Francisco State University. I went on to earn two teaching credentials and a Master’s of Arts in Teaching from Chapman University in its excellent applied education program. I have taught nearly all grade levels over my almost fifteen years as an educator. Currently, I am a PhD student at the California Institute of Integral Studies researching why art exists, in its Consciousness and Transformation Department.
