Rev. Dr. Joe Castillo is a Honduran-born pastor, missionary, church planter, and law-enforcement chaplain. After immigrating to Los Angeles as a young man and experiencing the pressures of gang life, his encounter with Jesus redirected the course of his life.

Together with his wife, Lilyana, Joe served as a missionary in Equatorial Guinea and Cameroon, living and working among the Baka people. Their ministry emphasized friendship, language learning, biblical teaching, leadership development, and preparing local believers to carry the work forward.

Joe later earned a master’s degree in Multicultural Ministry from Fuller Theological Seminary. He has served in church planting, missionary training, and LAPD chaplaincy, and now pastors 180 City Church alongside Lilyana. His life and ministry remain committed to guiding people toward hope, restoration, and freedom.
