Ryan Hoyt grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. Writing called to him from an early age, which led to some abandoned projects in his early 20s. It was another decade later when his first real project, The Forest of Despair, started to take shape, and another five years before it was ultimately written and published.
Ryan reads across genres, be it horror, fantasy, mystery, or thrillers, and his writing reflects that. Hopping between horror and fantasy releases isn't the easiest way to build a dedicated readership, but that's the journey chosen by Ryan and Machete & Quill Press.
Outside of writing, Ryan works full time in the technology field, focusing on internet trust & safety. He has a wife and two kids and spent a decade playing guitar in bands before writing took over his free time.
