Sarah Bankuti is a British children’s author living in Canada, nonprofit founder, and mother who believes that every child deserves hope, courage, and a little magic—especially during life’s hardest moments.
Sarah’s writing journey began when her daughter, Alice, was diagnosed with brain Cancer. Wanting to help children facing serious illnesses feel less afraid and less alone, she created Princess Lily, the first story in what has grown into the Enchanted Hope children’s book series.
Today, the series includes five storybooks, each created to support children and families facing different medical journeys. Alongside Princess Lily are stories such as Princess Alannah, written to bring hope to children living with Neurofibromatosis. In Fall 2026, Sarah will release Jackson and the NPO Quest, helping children understand fasting before surgery and medical procedures. She donates these books and the plushies to families and children's hospitals around the world.
Sarah has also created six beautifully illustrated watercolor activity books, thoughtfully designed to be inclusive of all children. Throughout the books, children are represented with diverse medical experiences, including children with no hair, medical devices, and physical differences, helping every child feel seen, represented, and included.
Sarah is the founder of the Enchanted Hope Foundation, a Canadian registered nonprofit dedicated to bringing comfort, courage, and magical experiences to children with serious illnesses and their siblings through books, hospital programs, and community initiatives.
Her dream is to ensure that no child faces a serious illness feeling alone.
