Scott Pellerito is retired with 20 years as a chief in the police and fire professions. He also retired after 20 years as the fleet and asset director for a Michigan private school bus transportation company. A Michigander attended West Catholic High School, Grand Rapids Community College, Michigan State University, and the University of Notre Dame. Scott served on active duty with the U.S. Navy from 1975 to 1979 aboard the U.S.S. Forrestal CV-59 as a Radioman. He continued to serve in the active U.S. Naval Reserves from 1980-1991 as a Master at Arms. Active in the USCG Auxiliary, he held several offices with the National Staff and at District, Division, and Flotilla levels. He also volunteered with the US Naval Sea Cadet Corps, retiring as the Great Lakes Regional Director. As a professional, he has served on boards for the Michigan Association of Police Chiefs, Michigan Association of Fire Chiefs, Michigan State Police School Bus Committee, and the Michigan School Bus Association. Memberships include the Warthogs Motorcycle Club, Free & Accepted Masons, and the Commanders Club of Michigan. Scott has authored two books "Buried Memories" in 2022, "Close the Hatch" in 2023 and "Whispers of Little Italy" in 2024. He is working on his fourth book "Idlewild." He lives with his wife, June, and has one son, Tony, in Lansing, Michigan.
