Scott Eichinger was born in Michigan but grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he still lives today. After working a variety of jobs, he turned to writing when a disability gave him time to explore his creative side—and he discovered a deep love for science fiction and fantasy. Known for his slightly eccentric imagination, Scott gravitates toward time travel, dystopian futures, and morally complex storytelling. Five Seconds Too Late is his sixth novel, following his dystopian Option Cycle series. He lives with his wife and three cats, who tolerate his habit of talking out loud to fictional characters.
