Strong female characters play a major role in Scott's sci-fi/fantasy stories because he's married to a beautiful PhD who can edit, break boards, and use a chainsaw. Humor is a part of every novel because in the real world, something always goes wrong, and people have flaws. If you can't laugh at yourself, someone is probably doing it for you. LGBTQ characters appear in most of his books because they exist in real life and one of the bravest things he's ever seen was a friend dancing with his life partner at a Texas company Christmas party. Each book in his "Jezebel's Ladder" series hit Amazon's high-tech science-fiction top 100. The same universe continues in "Pillars of the Moon" and concludes 400 years in the future with the epic Gigaparsec space-opera series. His 2016 medical thriller about a COVID pandemic, "K2 Virus," was his highest-rated book until the real pandemic struck. Then his audience shifted to the paranormal escapism of "Tells" (YA) and "It Takes an Oni" (adult). Those who prefer cyberpunk Batman or conspiracies like Orphan Black opt for "Quantum Zero Sentinel." Retired from programming supercomputers, he enjoys reading and visiting exotic ports for inspiration.
