"Alone, the imagination grows strong," Shane Avansino says of his
childhood days spent in the serenity of Northern California's vast
woodlands. The openness and solitude of the forest left Shane a blank
canvas upon which he could imagine characters living in-between worlds.
Because his mother read countless fairy tales to him, he began to see
