Shanna (rhymes with banana) Upchurch writes picture books and middle grade novels. She grew up in rural Illinois, but now calls Texas home. She is the winner of the SCBWI Work-in-Progress Award. Her books feature brave kids, awesome animals, and world-ending plots with big-hearted journeys. When she's not writing, you can find her wrangling her feral children, hanging with the honeybees in her apiary, digging up potatoes in the garden, or trying to keep her goats from climbing on the car (again).
