Shawn Wichert is an English teacher from Knoxville, Tennessee. He graduated from The University of Tennessee-Knoxville with degrees in history and education. His goal when writing The Lights Between Tunnels was to showcase difficult, unfair decisions teenagers struggle with today and the marginalization of teenage stress, identity, and depression. The adventurous book aspires to promote activism and hope in regards to these issues.
