Susan Tuttle has over 25 years’ experience in project management and is currently Senior PRINCE2 Portfolio Architect at PeopleCert, the global custodian of PRINCE2® best-practice frameworks. She began her career in the financial industry in the US, where she was first asked to “manage a project” not because she was a Project Manager, or even knew what a project was, but because there was an urgent need and someone had to step in. She learned on the job, with mixed results at first. Sometimes it worked brilliantly, sometimes not so much. After a few years, Susan undertook formal project management training, which gave structure and credibility to her practical experience. With a method behind her instincts, her confidence and outcomes improved significantly. Looking back, she often reflects that earlier guidance could have saved considerable frustration and a few burnt bridges. After moving to the UK in 2004, Susan was introduced to PRINCE2® Project Management, which proved to be a turning point. It brought together everything she had learned into a logical, best-practice, process-based approach to managing projects. Since then, she has worked extensively in consultancy, training and product development, helping organisations and individuals apply PRINCE2® and related frameworks in real-world environments. Susan wrote PRINCE2 Project Management in Action: Project Management in Real Terms to make project management accessible and practical. The book breaks down complex concepts through relatable, real-life scenarios, from personal projects such as weddings to professional initiatives including IT systems and websites.
