Susie Clifft Smith is a native Arkansan and the author of historical romance, contemporary romantic short stories, Christian short reads, poetry, and inspirational nonfiction. Her newest adventures branch into Young Adult Fantasy, Cyber Technothrillers, and Murder Suspense—stories where faith, resilience, and human connection remain at the core.
Whether she’s writing about rugged cowboys, steadfast women of faith, frontier brides navigating love and loss, or brilliant minds caught in the crossfire of espionage, Susie’s books share a common thread: heart, heritage, and hope.
She is the author of multiple beloved series, including:
Quinlin Proxy Brides
Cowboy Wedding
McKenzie Sisters
Gunslinger Wedding
Faith & Flowers
Finding Love
The Willow Hollow Files
A Cassie Leigh Horner Technothriller
The Aristomache Chronicles
Her standalone works include the historical epic The Praetorian Guardsman and the revised classic His Heart Found Home.
She has also published the poetry collection Honoring Loved Ones and the faith-based nonfiction series To God Be the Glory.
Susie holds a B.S.E. from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Arkansas, and studied at Kansas Wesleyan University and Southern Arkansas University. When she’s not writing, she enjoys connecting with readers on social media, spending time with family, and drawing inspiration from the Ozarks and beyond.
Some of her favorite authors include Pamela Morsi, Kathy Herman, Stephen Bly, Linda Lael Miller, Jan Karon, and Jodi Thomas—writers who, like Susie, believe in the power of redemptive love and resilient characters.
Though she wrote her first novel in 2003, fear of failure kept it tucked away in a drawer. Today, her message to new writers is simple: Stop procrastinating and just go for it!
